This event is being co-sponsored by the Corinth Area Tourism Promotion Council. The event was sanctioned by
the NSA as their major event for the 2005 season. Profits from the Battle of Corinth event
will go to support local preservation efforts in Corinth. These include repairs and
restoration to the historic Verandah
House, restoration and repair of the civil war monument on the courthouse square, and
design and placement of a marker honoring all the men, both blue and gray, who fought at
Corinth.

Some concerns have been voiced about the event and how the site faired
after Hurricane Katrina. First and foremost is our concern for those in the affected
areas. So many people have been touched in one way or another by this tragedy and
theres no doubt that some of our own family are among the unfortunate. Our prayers
are with them now and will be with them during the difficult days ahead. If you are able
and inclined you might think about how you can help. Youd be surprised what you
could do even if you live in Alaska. Check with the FEMA Hurricane Katrina
information page about ways of helping.
General Moore assures that the event will carry on as planned. The site
has been inspected and no damage has been done to it. Final preparations like bush-hogging
the parking areas and finishing the water spigots are progressing on schedule. Any
information pertaining to the event will be passed down directly from the Generals or
their staff. Stay tuned to the NSA Bulletin Board for any
official word. The green lamp is burning and
we're on go for the event.
